Bob Romanko – ‘As part of University Human Resources Information Technology, my charge is to make certain Human Resources staff and their HR partners meet their business goals by gently persuading various information systems to help them do so. I do it through Web development, database design, business systems consulting, and more. After over 30 years in technology, I fluently geek-speak 328 words per minute, with gusts to 393, so I focus on nixing the jargon and make the technically inexplicable easy to understand.
I’m a full-time telecommuter, living with wife, Brenda, and three school-age sons in Homer, Alaska. Yes..THE Homer, Alaska, of the “Time Bandit”, Jewel, Tom Bodett, and Kilcher family fame. In spite of what you may think, no I cannot see Russia from here, but if you look at my pic that is our front yard with Kachemak Bay and the Harding Ice Field in the background.
Sure, starting everyday at 4 a.m. takes a degree of fortitude (and a whole lot of coffee), but I completely enjoy my UVa career and working with the great people I serve. I am very proud to be part of an outstanding IT team!’
